I am Polett Kasza, a Berlin-based freelance dancer and performer from Hungary. I am collaborating with different choreographers and collectives from the international contemporary art scene.

After graduating from the Hungarian Dance Academy in 2011 in Budapest, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Dance, I started my professional dance career in Prague with the Czech National Ballet. This was followed by a new engagement with the Slovenian National Opera and Ballet in Ljubljana, where I was promoted to a demi-soloist position. In 2016 I joined the Hessisches Staattsballett in Wiesbaden-Darmstadt as soloist where I  work with choreographers such as: Itamar Serussi, Jeroen Verbruggen, Wayne McGregor, Alexander Ekman, Ramon John, Pablo Girolami, Tim Plegge and Kristian Lever. Currently I am working with Beatrix Simkó, Sanja Neskovic Persin, and Katia Engel, as well as creating my own independent project.

The purpose of this website is to house the collected and digitalised documentation (video recordings, photos, and posters) of my professional dance performances from the last ten years. I worked in many different countries and cities. It was very exciting to revisit those places in order to make the collection. Unfortunately, not all my performances have been video recorded, some of them only existing in photos.

Receiving the DIS-TANZ-SOLO funding not only allowed me to complete this project, but also allowed me to take a trip down memory lane, bringing a closure to those ten years of my career and giving me hope and courage for the next ten.
